Welcome to My Photography Blog

If you're searching for a particular post, search by month and click on the month that the post is in (for some reason, the slideshows don't show up if you click on the post itself.)

Well, it's been a year and a half since moving from Boston to Jax Beach! My photography business has taken off since moving here and I'm enjoying so many things about doing photography in Jacksonville Beach. I've done simple beach ceremonies to beautiful wedding venues! I've traveled to St. Simon's Island, GA and Charleston, SC! I've been able to photograph Smokey Robison for the Florida Theatre and photograph the Jacksonville Airshow over our beach! I hope you enjoy just a few of the many images I've captured.

Heidi's Trash the Dress Session

My daughter Heidi and her family came for Christmas. She volunteered to do a Trash the Dress Session with her sister's wedding dress while she was here. We did some nice shots first (she's been married 8 years and has two kids and I wasn't into bridals way back then)and then we did a little surfing! Enjoy the slideshow below.

Brody's First Photo Shoot!

I captured Brody with my camera before he was born! We did family pictures at the beach just a few days before he was came into the world (see the Rosenthal beach pictures further down the posts). Now, at 3 weeks, it was time to capture the innocence of a newborn! What better time than Christmas! We'll have to add his older sister into the mix when he's a little older! Enjoy the slideshow below!

Stansbury Christmas Photos

My friends Vicki and Steve had all of their kids in town recently. They were able to get us in to the Palm Cove Marina in Jacksonville to take some great photos! We used the marshes, beautiful yachts and a cute little bait and fish house for backdrops. Their three girls and extended family were so easy and fun to work with. The grandkids were such troopers. It was freezing and they were patient and did just what we asked! Enjoy the slideshow below!

A Cousin Christmas

Cousins Ryan & Hailey came over for some adorable Christmas photos this week! Ryan is the one on the tricycle - Hailey's still a little small for that sort of thing but seemed to enjoy her bathtub! Taking photos of little ones is always challenging yet one of the funnest things around! After a little time out for a quite snack and a 5 minute nap, little Hailey was well behaved and posed just perfectly! We almost lost Ryan backwards on the tricycle...she was having too much fun! Enjoy the slideshow below.

Merrick's Christmas Photos

Merrick is Gwendolyn's cousin (see her slideshow below). Merrick is the baby in the pregnancy series and newborn series I did with his mom Bekah. He's growing up and one must document the growing up part! Enjoy!

Gwendolyn Christmas Photos

Gwendolyn is a grandchild of the Cokers. I got to see how beautiful she was at the beach and wanted to do some more shots of her. Her mom had some Christmas outfits and I had just found the perfect bathtub and tricycle! What eyes...what a smile!

Coker Family on Thanksgiving

Our good friends, the Cokers, had all of their kids in town (some from Italy) for Thanksgiving! We took that rare occasion to have some fun at the beach and grab a few shots in the process! Enjoy the slideshow below.

Isabela's First Birthday

Maggiano's at Towne Center was the location for Isabela's first birthday. About 60-80 of her relatives were there to help celebrate. Everyone wanted their picture taken with Isabela - what a loved little girl. Her mom had decorated the room so cute and the cake - well, let's just say I'm going to steal the idea for one of my grandkids birthday cakes! So cute! Isabela was a little overwhelmed with everything as you'll see in her 'I just can't take it anymore' crying picture! I was amazed she lasted as long as she did! Enjoy the slideshow above.

Beach Photos with the Rosenthals

We managed to finish up these photos just a few days before Dana delivered a little boy! She really did have that 'glow.' Laila,(I'm not sure I'm spelling that right), the little girl, was not happy being put down and wanted her mom to hold her the entire time. We used a little creative photography to get her to touch her mom's tummy...we just shot from behind Laila so you couldn't see she was screaming :-)

Aaron was a trooper and showed her a cute sand turtle that someone had made. That made her happy for a moment. I told him not to feel bad because his little girl preferred her mother - my kids didn't want much to do with my husband until they were old enough to ask for money and the car! :-) But now, they prefer their dad to me, I think! What's that saying, 'Little boys grow up and marry them a wife, but little girls are their daddy's little girls for life.'

Smokey Robinson Concert

Smokey Robinson gave a concert in Jacksonville at the Florida Theatre. Thanks to a friend at my church who's company was responsible for putting in the bronz stars, I was able to be the photographer for the 'before and after concert' pictures with the people who donated money. Smokey was incredible in concert. Great voice, great energy, a true entertainer.

Jacksonville Beach Airshow

I got to walk a block from my house to the beach on Thursday, Friday and Sat. to watch the Blue Angels and other aircraft in the JAX Beach airshow. It was so cool to watch them over the beach and water and I got to use my new lens to grab some cool shots. These are just a few below. Enjoy!

Katrina Schmalz & Luis Mendizabal Wedding

I felt like the postman the weekend of Katrina's wedding. Neither rain, nor sleet...you get the idea. It was 30 degrees the afternoon we did her bridals and 40 the day of the wedding. The next day it snowed. Who would have thought that New England in mid-October could give us such a hard time! I did love her dress - handmade by Jess Law.

Enjoy the slideshow below. I did manage to get Katrina to take off her shawl for just a few shots. It really was freezing!!!

Heidi and her kids!

I was lucky enough to be in MA for a week and got to photograph my beautiful daughter, Heidi with her two kids, Ryker and Abby. Abby's copper colored hair went well with the fall colors and five year old Ryker, was a trooper for the whole shoot! Enjoy the slideshow below.

Jared & Kassie's Wedding

The Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah was a beautiful setting for this wedding. The day was spectacular with fall in the air and I enjoyed seeing family and friends! Jared, my nephew, and his bride, Kassie, were so fun to work with. Their personalities came through in many of the photos! Enjoy the slideshow below!

Abby's First Birthday

The photos in the slideshow below were taken last April, but I've had a few requests from customers to see what might happen if they let their one-year-old demolish a cake for their birthday! Enjoy the slideshow below!

Brandon & Allyson

Once in a while, I get to photograph friends. I've known the de la Houssaye family for years! Our kids were friends and went to the same high school; we went to the same church. I taught a few of them piano as well as religious classes. I was so excited to get to go to Charleston, SC for a beautiful wedding at the Magnolia Plantation. I hope you enjoy the slideshow below. I've taken the liberty of including pictures of some of our friends...besides the groom! I've included just a few of the 850 pictures I ended up with!

Tyler & Samantha's Wedding

Tyler and Samantha were married recently at the Orlando Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What a beautiful setting for such a remarkable occasion! The slideshow belows highlights just part of their day!

Bekah, Dejay and Merrick

My friend, Rebekah, let me use her as a model for something I hadn't had the chance to try yet! We did a pregnancy series and created a collage with the new baby as the finishing touch. Some photos from the session are in a slideshow below.

Jared & Kassie's Engagement Photos

My nephew is engaged! I was lucky enough to be in Utah when they wanted engagement photos done. We had a little fun with the castle tower where we were shooting...hmmm, better be careful you two!

Brent, Alice & kids!

I had a great time with my nephew in Utah photographing his family. It's become our yearly tradition!

Photo Shoots with the Tracy Family

I have three beautiful grandchildren in Utah and it had been a while since we updated their photos. I was able to get two of them done. Child number three, age 2, had taken scissors to her hair recently so we decided to capture her picture when I return in September. Here are my two oldest grandchildren!

Lyndall & Her Grandma, Eileen

Lyndall, a recent high school graduate, was visiting from out-of-state and since Eileen(her grandma) is one of my new Jacksonville Beach friends, we decided a little photoshoot was in order for her and her granddaughter. A few wardrobe changes along the way and a break in the rain provided for some nice shots.

Josh & Heather's Wedding at Guana Park, Ponte Vedra

Once again, we found the one day in a week with no rain! I love doing simple beach weddings. No need to decorate and the scenery is beautiful!
